The paper is focus on the developing of the bus Video-on-Demond system with higher integrated level and independent intellectual property right.With the development of the modern technology, electronic technology, computer control technology, as well as automobile equipment technique, the new electronic application system--the bus Video-on-Demand (VoD) system is getting rid of the stale and brings forth the fresh. But most video on demand systems today are bulky, the installment as well as the maintenance are complex. These systems only can be applied in the railway carriages, and can't be installed on the highway bus or plane, where the volume and the weight should be specially requested.Firstly, following the trend of bus Video-on-Demand system's development and the actuality of our nation's market, a new solution using embedded system is proposed in this paper, with the principle of the bus Video-on-Demond system is talked about and compared with other holistic designs.Secondly, the first generation of bus Video-on-Demond system based on the SOPC technology and the researching on key modules are researched. In the design, the FPGA chip is adopted. FPGA chip has on-circuit-programming feature and high-speed interfaces, which are available to image-processing. The selection and broadcast server menu is prepared and the whole system software is integrated and optimized. At the same time, we also perfect the previous edition circuit, making the whole system to meet product requirements.Thirdly, an important issue discussed in this dissertation is demonstrating the design projects of the second generation of the bus Video-on-Demond system. Three mature hardware system designs are compared and the hardware system based on Au1200 is selected finally, using the co-design technology with SOPC, in order to meet the demand of high processing performance, versatility and lowering costs.Finally, characteristics of this system are summarized based on the actual result of the research and development of this system, and the future designing work is also prospected.
