In the internet era, the way of people's watching videos is also changed. Nowadays, people like to watch videos on the Internet. A huge amount of videos are created and uploaded every day. These videos not only entertain the Internet users and also create an ideal platform for advertising. As for now, the most popular form of advertisement is Pre-movie adverts, which is irrelevant to the containing video and is produced separately by advertisers, and the length of time gets gradually longer. According to a study, a lot of users don't like such form of advertisement because they are forced to watch them and the advertisements can be skipped only if they pay for it. So how to solve the problem that be adopted by users and advertiser is urgently. This system devotes to the research of video-on-demand and embedded advertising.According to the characteristics of advertising and users, this paper intends to design and implement a system of ads placement and retrieval which is based on video-on-demand. The system absorbs domestic and foreign research results in the functional maturation of image analysis algorithms, allowing users to take the initiative to trigger ads; In addition, explore non-traditional forms of advertising presentation to supplement and eventually replace the presenting form of traditional advertising. The model that users trigger the advertising on their own can be accepted more easily. It also creates a virtuous circle. After a test and simple trial, the system achieved good results.
