The extensive application of Internet has made information propagation much faster and more convenient. Nowadays, more and more information spread through Internet, with very low cost. Therefore, many users turn to internet for comprehensive and updated information. In recent 30 years, Magazines in both presswork and electronical edition increased quickly. However, as the publication field becomes more commercialized, the very few publisher controls most of the magazines, which results in sharp increase in magazine prices.Under this background, recent years have witnessed certain success of open-access with the popularity of software field. Open-access is free to readers, and there is little limitation in using. Only by mentioning the author's name, readers are allowed to read, download, or copy the information they need, and can also link some specific information to essays they want.Currently, open-access is quite new to most people, and articles about open-access are relatively few. Therefore, the introduction about open-access is very necessary. However, there is little information about open-access both home and overseas, even less about symmetrical study. This essay introduced the new concept "open-access" and discussed its influence to the society.The first parts mainly introduce what is open-access, including how it comes out, the definition of it, and how it reflects. This part also declared the study angle and method by viewing the current study trend of open-access. The second part introduced the current situation of open-access from three aspects, nationally, internationally, and the usage of it. The third part listed the existed open-access projects to identify how open-access develops recently. The fourth part prospect the bright future of open-access by analyzing the usage of it. The fifth part listed the problems and barriers existed, and provide some suggestions and method from law and technical filed. The sixth part analyze the practical use of open-access and the influence to the society.
