Cold rolling strip is a kind of products with a high additional value. It is a primary material of automobile, mechanical engineering, architecture, electrician, electron, and food industry. Tandem cold rolling is a producing technology with high efficiency and quality for cold rolling strip. It has a lot of equipment, and the control process that is complex. It is an important characteristic with tension in tandem cold rolling producing. There is a huge infection on quality of cold rolling strip product and producing stability. So, there is great value about tension controlled.This research work was from the study of the ATC (Automatic Tension Control) System in the five racks of BenXi tandem cold mill. We firstly analyze the computing model of tension on theory in tandem cold rolling producing and account for controlling theory, Based on these, we gained the manners of tension controlled and list their principle charts, including tension control by Roller Gap and tension control by changing velocity. Secondly, we particular deduce the mathematics mode of tension control system, based on lots of relevant literature, domestic and oversea.Secondly, the Automatic Tension Control system is with parameters changed and disturbed by lots of environment signals. We introduce standard H_∞ control theory, including basic definition, theorem and state-feedback, output-feedback control designing method. We design H_∞ controller of tension system for disturbance control question by applying H_∞ control theory. And the designed tension control system have been simulated and researched with the Matlab.Lastly, tension system is a system with changing parameter, so we introduce robust H_∞ control theory, including robust analysis and robust synthesis of uncertain linear system. We transform controlled object of tension system with changing parameter into standard H_∞ control mode. More, we design robust H_∞ tension...
