The computer control system is important constituent in copper strip four high reversible cold rolling mills.It uses two levels of computer controls.It's an integrated computer control system with transmission control of rolling mill,automatic gauge control (AGC),automatic flatness control(AFC),process control and management,fault diagnosis and alarm,display and report form.The topic demonstrates the engineering project and compares the three representative master transmission systems for rolling mill:entire digital direct current transmission system,the entire digital AC-AC frequency converter,the entire digital AC-DC-AC frequency converter based on the IGBT.SIMOVERT MASTERDRIVES vector control converter is selected to be master drive system for four high reversible cold rolling mills. Combined with electric power electronic technology development,performance of the IGCT and IGBT converts are compared.The tension control may basically be divided into two kinds:direct tension control and indirect tension control.The topic has carried on the contrast to two tension control modes,and proposed the realization method of tension control system wtih SIMOVERT MASTERDRIVES and application in the reversible cold-rolling mill.Hydraulic thickness automatic control contains Permanent position control,Constant pressure control,pressure AGC,thickness feed-forward control,thickness feedback control,mass flow control and so on.The topic analyzes their respective characteristics of application.Also it introduces the thickness control method and application by intelligent control theory including fuzzy control,adaptive control,neural network and expert control emerged in recent years and so on.The topic has carried on the contrast to three kinds of Flatness measuring and controlling system made by ABB, SIEMENS and UNGERER.Based-on the practical project,FSA system 6.0 stressometer is selected,its control method and the application characteristics are introduced for four high reversible cold-rolling mills.The topic analyses the structure and composition of computer control system in the copper strip reversible cold-rolling mill.Key discussion and research are transmission control,automatic gauge control,automatic flatness control and their application in the reversible cold-rolling mill.According to the control theory research results and the computer control system development in the recent years,this topic's insufficiency and the future research direction are proposed.
