In order to estimate the potential human loss and assist rescue decision-making during chemical release accident evacuations, a multiagent-based evacuation and rescue simulation system (MERS) can simulate the evacuation employees and rescue vehicles within a chemical factory. This program is built on the MAS technology and assigns a variety of attributes to each worker in the factory population. These attributes include strength, agility, endurance and heath point. These attributes can influence move velocity, move direction and behavior in congestion. At the same time, vehicles are also considered in the simulation. Specific algorithms that facilitate the simulation of evacuation movement include path finding, key grid and adjustments to individual speed due to density of the proximity of crowd members and self endurance. Meanwhile, some accident models are built to represent the damage caused by hazardous chemical accident. In response to valid simulation model, MERS considers not only human but also vehicles in evacuation and rescue. |
