Large and crowded public places, such as subways, railway stations, squares, etc.,have characteristics of high degree of gathered crowd and great mobility, serious loss ofproperty and lives are bound to happen in the event of riots, fires and explosions and otheraccidents. Therefore, when those accidents occur, how to quickly and safely evacuate allpersonnel in scenario is the primary consideration in the emergency response measures. Inrecent years, a variety of crowd events occurred frequently worldwide, so crowd behaviormodeling and simulation had attracted widespread attention, and related modeling andsimulation technology had also made rapid development.First, the existing results of modeling and simulation of crowd evacuation is studiedin this paper, and then we list a number of research institutions and teams at home andabroad that make remarkable progress in modeling and simulation of crow evacuation.Secondly, a general behavioral model framework for crowd evacuation is established.We define several basic behaviors for the agents in the model, and propose a hierarchicalbehavior model, based on the four assumptions and taking the psychological andsociological factors into consideration, we finally establish the desired behavior modelingframework, and give a detailed description of each module in the framework. Then, thevirtual environment of the real scene is generated, and the agent path planning, collisionavoidance and collision response strategies are designed as well. The virtual environmentis the basis of the crowd simulation model, the designed path planning and collisionavoidance and response strategies can be achieved when the agent in the simulation modeland virtual environment interact. What’s more, combined with the previously establishedbehavioral model framework and the newly created crowd simulation framework, which isbased on multi-agent, as well as the pedestrian agent model, we establish a crowdevacuation based on multi-agent system, and we then take the crowd evacuation after theraise of national flag ceremony on Tiananmen Square for example, to verify the validity ofthe established model, and the result shows that it can provide some reference for thefurther study on the modeling and simulation of crowd evacuation. Finally, the entire software system is designed. A detailed description of each modulein the system and the corresponding class diagram are given.
