With the rapid development and mature of virtual reality technology, the virtual reality techniques are applied extensively in many fields. At present, virtual reality technology has been applied in Virtual Battlefield, Virtual Battlefield can help training soldiers,can test and evaluate weapon system's capability and campaign project's advantage and disadvantage,Virtual Battlefield's application promote military emulation. It brings hope.Virtual Battlefiedwalk-through system is a specific application based on virtual realitytechnology. This system discussed in the thesis is based on the development of the models in Northeastern University campus, and it realizes the visual simulation and real-time walk-through with MultiGen Creator and Vega platforms. Static modeling and dynamic walk-through facilities are presented in the thesis.At first, it mainly introduces the basic concepts and important techniques of virtual campus walk-through system, include the concepts and applications of virtual reality technology and the virtual walk-through system and the walk-through methodology in the thesis.Next, in the virtual scene modeling, the paper realizes the modeling of some of virtual entity using texture technique, and this reduces the modeling complexity greatly. In the course of managing the dynamic scene, the paper proposes that using texture technique to replace the digital method based on discrete sampling. This not only reduce the resource engross of the system greatly, but also increase the speed of dynamic response, enhances the facility effect of he virtual environment At the same time, the paper realizes the dynamic texture, this improves the flexibility of texture creating, enhances the romance effect of texture to virtual object. More over, the paper proposes an arithmetic texture, and the practice testifies that it fits the realization effect of texture technique.Consequently, it shows the main aspects of real-time walk-through procedures, for nstance, the walk-through method and collision detection. In the course of studying the ollision of the objects in the virtual scene, the paper proposes three measure methods and ives corresponding arithmetic aiming to different figure objectsIn the next, it shows the work done in the thesis, the construction of the whole virtual Battlefield walk-throusih system. and realized the collision detection and real-time walk-through system.In the end, the limitations of the work are summarized and the respects of the futurework are also outlined...
