The human being got the achievements in two areas during the last half of century. The first one is computer. Another one is telecommunication. After the 1st generation MCN based on analog technology and the 2nd generation MCN based on digital technology, the current hot topic is the 3rd generation mobile technology. Now the people can already communicate any time and any where.According to the evolution of the mobile phone, there are three phases:The first one is the traditional phone which only has basic communication function.The second one is called multi-function phone which have some add values. This kind phone is always used for special application and special group.The third one is smart phone. This kind phone is also named the phone which has operating system and supporting function for the third party application.Value innovation is a new theory concept. It is used to instruct enterprise how to move from a competition market to another with high profit. In any area, we can find a dedicated value curve. Based on the segmentation of customer group, we can adjust the existing value curve to well meet the customer's requirementNOKIA is a world leading mobile phone vendor. After analysis the current business of smart phone based on Michael porter five-forces analysis model, we study the market of Nokia smart phone business in details.Based on the study on smart phone market, at the end of the thesis, we propose some suggestions for Nokia's smart phone business and also have some expectations for the whole market of smart phone.
