Today,the powerful functions of smart phones have changed people's lives.Many people have benefited from it and become highly dependent on smart phones.Especially for college students,the phenomenon that college students use their smart phones immoderately in class has become very common,so,this phenomenon is a popular topic in society these days.This thesis uses NFC Technology to design a smart phone monitoring and attendance system.With these features of NFC,students must finish the attendance process face to face without the possibility of proxy attendance.By this way of attendance process,the system can monitor smart phone of students at the same time.The proposed system guarantees the rate of attendance and the efficiency of lecture.NFC is one of the latest technologies in short-range wireless communication that evolved from RFID technology and enables the exchange of data between devices within a range of 20 cm.Due to this short range,NFC provides a fast way to communicate between two devices and a higher degree of security than Bluetooth.NFC has gradually become one of the hardware standard of mobile phones,and is widely used in many field,such as mobile payment,identification,transportation and medical.At first,this thesis introduced some existing solutions of smart phone monitoring and attendance and the basic knowledge of NFC technology and its advantages.According to the disadvantages of these existing solutions,we put forward the functions that the smart phone monitoring and attendance system need to design.In order to prove the effectiveness of the system,tests for this system were carried out in the end of this thesis.The results show that the rate of the system attendance using NFC technology was fast,and smart phone monitoring system was highly effective.The system consists of mobile client software based on Android software development platform,PC software based on Windows software development platform,NFC information reader/writer device used to exchange data between NFC devices and server machine with database and application server.To exchange data between NFC devices,a NFC controller chip PN532 designed by NXP semiconductors was used.Compared with the existing smart phone monitoring and attendance system,the designed system in this thesis is completely synchronized with the processes of class,and the system using NFC technology implement the function of attendance.The innovative points of this system is that students use their smart phones to finish the attendance process,and then,this system will monitor smart phone until the class is over.During the smart phone monitoring running,students' smart phones is locked,students can't use their smart phones in class,their smart phones will be mute.Only after class,can students use their smart phones normally.
