With the high-tech and information technology widely used, safe, comfortable and convenient living environment is no longer a dream.Development of Intelligent Network Appliance can help the human society to achieve this dream. The intelligent network appliance containing enormous business opportunities has become a modern real estate agent and electrical manufacturers chasing hot.Intelligent Network Appliance Remote Monitoring System (INARMS) is an intelligent integrated system that can realize remote control and condition monitoring of household appliances connected the home gateway such as the air conditioning, microwave ovens, refrigerators, television, sound equipment, lighting equipment and Monitoring camera, through telephone network, broadband network or other means of communication.INARMS is a complex system engineering. If the equipment manufacturers product equipment in accordance with the different interface standards and protocols, then the result is that interconnection and interoperability between different devices becomes very difficult. Therefore, the key of the development of intelligent network appliances remote monitoring system is to establish common standards and protocols as soon as possible.The purpose of INARMS system design and implementation is to build a business of the experimental platform for this application field, and explore a market-oriented path. INARMS system design and implementation greatly promoted formulation of the Haier group's "family network platform" standard. this standard has been promulgated as national voluntary industry standard.INARMS system design is based on embedded system design, including hardware and software system design. Equipment description file norm and home wireless control subnet communication protocol is focus of the whole system design.This paper mainly focus in the following aspects:1. Describe INARMS software system design. Logic hierarchical structure design cause low couple of the system and make the system easy to expand. the communication protocol between Household appliances and wireless communications module is guarantee of the whole system to manage and monitor household appliances.2. Design wireless control subnet communication protocol to apply for INARMS system, based on reference to IEEE 802.15.4 standard and the specific needs of Haier.3. Design equipment description file specification. Equipment description file is a binary description file from the abstract and digital home appliance, is a bridge of communication between INARMS system and various household appliances.Equipment information registry is core data structure of subnet management control system, is integration of device description files list and various resources (voice, images, data, etc.) indexed by device description files. Without equipment information registry, we will not be able to achieve the various household appliances remote monitoring and management.4. Describe the development and compiler environment of embedded system, design major functional module process of software of home subnet gateway and wireless communication module, and provide source code for reference in the appendix.At present, international and nation standard of intelligent network appliance has not really mature. The major Manufacturers and related organizations is in the process of establishment of network interface standard and data transmission protocol between equipments. Seizing the opportunity, domestic manufacturers will get endless business opportunities. It can be foreseen that the development of intelligent network appliances will benefit the human society.
