Design And Implementation Of A Platform Of School-Based Course Development And Resource Management

Implementing modern distance education project in rural middle and primary schools, using the resources of high quality and information technologies, can be seen as an important way to change the current teaching situation, improve the teaching quality and promote the education development of the countryside. Now how to develop the educational resources that is suitable to the practical situation of the rural middle and primary school, solve the problems "not enough and hard-to-use" have become the core things. This paper is set in the modern distance education project, for solving the resource construction problems of the project, combining with the new ideas of "developing the construction of school-based resource and school-based course" advocated by the elementary education curriculum reform started at 21st century, then it designs and implements a platform of school-based course development and resource management, in order to offer convenient for rural teachers and offer guidance and reference for the construction of school-based resource in rural schools.This paper is divided into eight chapters. Chapter 1 is an introduction to the research background and the significance of it, and then describes the current situation of the school-based resource construction at home and abroad.Chapter 2 gives an outline of the basal situation about the modern distance education project in rural middle and primary school, and analyzes the resources problems of the project briefly, such as "resources not suitable for the textbooks' content in rural schools, simple and brief, not open to and shared by others" etc.Chapter 3 is an introduction to basis study related to this research, including some related concepts, general overviews of school-based resource construction. And it discusses the content and principles of the school-based resource construction, then puts forward a new model"situation analysis—function extract—system design"for the resource construction.Chapter 4 introduced the main technologies of the platform, including the development environment and the running environment, the technology of Browser/Server and three-tiered architecture Model, the technology of database and ASP.NET.Chapter 5 is a detailed analysis and design of the system, including the principles and the goals of design, the framework of the system, and the basic functions of the structure modules, which is based on the investigation of some middle and primary school in zengdu area, suizhou city, Hubei province, and absorbing the methods and merits of several systems.Chapter 6 is the explanation of the system's implementation process. First it gives a general introduction to the system, then explains the data access layer, the business logic layer and presentation layer respectively.Chapter 7 is the explanation of the system's functional test result and the feature of the system. This system can be used for course development, resource management and information shared, and it has an advantage of running efficiently, easily maintained, and being prolongable. It has been proved by the test that the system is running stably and has implemented all functions designed before, so it reaches our expected standard.Chapter 8 summarizes the shortcomings of the system and looks into the work what we need to do next to make it more prefect.
