Research And Implementation On IPTV Quality Analysis System

IPTV is a new network value-added service developed with internet. It takes advantage of the infrastructure of the internet, uses television and computer as major terminal, and provides variety of media service, and delivers television signal through the internet protocol.The development of IPTV also brings pressure to IP metropolitan area network. Growth relations of current capacity of IPTV and the number of online users is not linear, this may lead to excess load of parts of network elements(e.g. DSLAM,rout).when the number of the IPTV users reaches a certain extent, IPTV quality of service may be influenced. After the problem appeared, how to analysis and position the problem, how to assure the service quality, and how to realize the promise of users need to be solved urgently.The main contents of the thesis are following: (1) Discussed the characteristics and structure of the IPTV system. Researched the main factors of the impact on the quality of IPTV system and the type of indicators which assess the quality of IPTV system. Studied the basic principles and analysised process of MDI metrics and MPQM metrics. In conjunction with these two metrics, the key indicators of analysising the quality of IPTV system were given, the overall structure of IPTV quality analyse system were designed; (2) Studied the key technologies in the process of analysising the quality of IPTV system, including video quality measurement of video servers, packet acquisition, packet decryption, indicators computation as well as the analysis of IPTV system quality; (3) Researched the implementation of quality analyse system on IPTV, its work processes were as follows: First, access to data packets from the LAN; and then decode the data packet and get the fields needed by indicators; finally according to the indicators, we can analysis the quality of IPTV system.The IPTV quality analyse system that combines MPQM metrics and MDI metrics is able to make a more comprehensive analyses of service quality of IPTV system and user experience quality, that is the analysis of the impact of the loss of coding compression, loss of the network, network jitter and delay on the quality of IPTV system.
