Research On The CMMI-based Model And Tool Prototype Of Software Quality Metrics

With the rapid development of computer technologies, software systems have been applied to many fields. Meanwhile, the software quality has also increasingly attracted people's attention. During the development of the large-size software, the control and management of software quality, which is a major problem in the software development process, is becoming more and more difficult. How to improve the quality of software and decrease the cost of the following system development is a key problem. Software metrics can be seen as an efficient way to solve this problem. Based on CMMI and software metrics, a model and a tool of software quality metrics are studied in this work.Firstly, software quality and software metrics are introduced, and the existing software quality metrics models are analyzed. Secondly, on studying the software metrics theory and CMMI theory, the target of the software metrics in the field of CMMI, the relevant metrics activities and the metrics methods are researched. A CMMI-based software quality metrics model is proposed, and a prototype system of software quality metrics tool is implemented. The architecture, module design, database design and module implementation of the prototype system are presented. At last, we make a conclusion, in which the main research activities and the limitation of the research are summarized, and the future work is discussed.The research results can be applied to helping small and medium-size software organizations get technical support, with which medium-size software organizations can get feedbacks from software metrics and arrange the software development rationally. The development process and the quality of final product are controlled in time, which results in the saving of software development and maintenance.
