With the rapid development of digital information technology and network technology, intelligent information appliance, the largest application field of embedded system, has become a fashion of modern society and family. An intelligent information display unit on refrigerator has been developed based on ARM-Linux embedded system.Through analyzing embedded microprocessor, hardware circuits based on AT91SAM9261 system framework have been designed, including EBI circuits, SDRAM module and Nand_DataFlash module, TFT-LCD interface circuit, touch button circuit, CCFL backlight circuit, the SP3232 communication circuit and power circuit etc. These various modules have been analysed and hardware schematics have been given.After comparison of Linux, VxWorks,μC/OS-Ⅱand Windows CE, operating system has been selected and the development platform of cross-compiler environment- ARM-Linux has been built.On the basis of transplant of GAL and IAL, flow chart of MiniGUI application program has been designed. Then MiniGUIMain, an entrance function, has been programmed to set the main window styles. LoadBmpProc, a main window processing function, has been programmed to process messages of keys and timer. Display and loadbmp have been programmed to realize window's display. Nand has been programed to realize communication of network and single-chip microcomputer.The intelligent information display unit has been completed by system debugging and experiment. It can be controlled by keys or remote computers, can display animation, images and text, can upload working conditions and alarm information to network, can be maintained by remote monitoring and upgrading, and it has been used in production already.
