In the late 1990s, industrial application based testing systems encounter many unprecedented challenges arising form the needs of tackling more and complex functions remote access and control requirement, distributed resources, scalable environment and various embedded nodes linked with different protocol networks. Along with the rapid advance in science and technology, particularly in the area of microelectronics, computer and networking technology, networking-based measurement and control system has now been recognized as one of the most important research areas. Such a technical tendency requires a common software structure: when address a network based test or control application, is capable of issuing a command through an authorized user form anywhere across the network and capturing data from the remote site; In such systems, all data are pooled to the system database and be shared among the users depending on the configuration policy.The work described in this paper is aimed at developing a simple but effective software platform using Visual Studio and Measurement Studio, which is able to perform such general functions for networking-based measurement and control systems. Today the most common network architectures are C / S (Client/Server) and B / S (Browser/Server). Through the combination of both of C / S and B / S network structures and considering the practical application needs of networking-based measurement and control system, designs a four-layer C / S and B / S mixed network structure common testing platform. In the process of realizing that platform the Web Service technology is used. It not only provides unified service interfaces for the B / S and C / S network structures, simplifies the system, but also lays the foundation for future cross-platform applications. There is a unified interface in the system for dynamic changes of equipment. According to the method specified in this article, adding or reducing an instrument does not affect the normal operation of the system. C / S client also realizes a configuration system which provides users a convenient and intuitive interface.
