The signal processing system design of Radar-guider involves lots of complex technologies and theory, and there would be many differences between systems according to the different using purposes and working environment. In sea clutter environment, the Radar-guider will be interfered by the clutter seriously, especially with a high grazing angle, and fierce sea clutter makes detection more difficult. Currently, domestic and foreign researchers have studied the seacoast-based radar with low- glancing angle widely and made many achievements. However by far the characteristics of the sea clutter at the high-grazing angle have been discussed rarely and there are few practical applications.The main content of this paper is the CFAR detection technology in the strong sea clutter background with high-grazing angle. Firstly, there is a detailed introduction about the basis theory of sea clutter, and this paper gives an analysis about the statistical characteristics of sea clutter on practical project demand, using the common description method—RCS and discussing the affection of the grazing angle, sea condition and other factors toσ0, with brief introductions of some other sea clutter description methods. Contraposing the practical application, there is a discussion about the clutter characteristics of high-resolution radar and Radar-guider, and a brief introduction of current anti-sea clutter measures of the sea clutter target detection.CFAR detection is an important part of signal processing technology, and as a main pretreatment, CFAR has been applied widely. False alarm probability is an important guide line of the detection system, and serious false alarm would damage the detection system performance seriously. One of the topics of the research in this paper is to obtain a certain CFAR method to meet the special requirement of Radar-guider working in sea clutter background. This paper discusses the the classic CFAR method and proposes using the nonparametric CFAR processing technology in the special detection system.Finally, the paper adopts several groups of ideal clutter model, uses the Monte-Carlo method to simulate the several basic methods of traditional parameter CFAR processing and the important Generalized Symbols Detectors (GSD) of nonparametric CFAR, tests the efficiency and disadvantage of different methods, and proposes a measure of the different CFAR options with the working characters of high-resolution Radar-guider at high-grazing angle.
