Long with the increasing intensification of market competition and rapid development of IT, more and more corporations begin to advance their integrate competence by IT which has been implied from single department to the whole enterprise, and from a certain phase to the whole life-cycle of production, such as the development of CAx/PDM/PLM/ERP/CRM/SCM.At present, the relatively mature information platforms applied are product information platform and resource information platform. The representations of the former are CAx/PDM which aid engineerers to design and manage product information in order to solve the question of "what to make"; and the representation of the latter is ERP which aid managers to deploy enterprise resource like human,money,materiel,time and so on to solve the question of "when/where/ to do".But there is a gap between the above two platforms——process informationplatform which is about the question of "how to make". Nowadays, most company adopt CAPP to aid to plan process, in which the information is stored as "card pattern". In that way, the relation between information has been distoryed, so it can't aid to factory planning and optimize analysis.The paper puts forward a process information platform——ManufacturingProcess Management(MPM) system to meet today's needs. MPM is based on the data relative to product especially to product manufacturing process, which introduces the virtual manufacturing principle and Industrial Engineering(IE) methods to aid engineers to plan, design, simulate, evaluate and optimize the whole manufacturing system(including process and layout). To realize the MPM system, this paper mainly does the following study.(1) Deeply analysis advanced thesis and technology relative to MPM;(2) Research the actual requirements of enterprise, establish the proper system framework and function structure;(3) Establish the uniform manufacturing process data structure model-EBOP (e-bill of process) which contains four main objects such as product,process,plant and resource. The data model can describe all kinds of relationship between different data in manufacturing process;(4) Discusses how to auto-generate process chart according to process database of MPM, how to assist analysis through knowledge database and regulation database of MPM, and establish relevant logical process model; (5)Uses a case to illuminate the actual application.
