With the continual growth of patients' medical service requirements and patients' information, the existing healthcare information system (HIS) can't satisfy the needs of better service for people and better development for hospitals any more. The existing HIS usually focuses on patients' charge and management information, whereas, no effective measures have been taken to handle the healthcare information which is very important in medical services. In order to satisfy the requirement of developments of the new healthcare service, we made an in-depth study on the experiences in enterprise informationization construction. With the guidance of CIMS methodology and PDM technique, by making full use of advanced computer technology and network technology, we proposed a patient-oriented lifecycle medical information model, then constructed a patient-oriented lifecycle medical information management system, which is used to conform all kinds of patients' information and exchange medical information rapidly and accurately between Medical services, as well as realize the lifecycle coverage and cross-boundary integration of patients' information.First, the paper introduces the properties and development of foreign and domestic healthcare information system and the main work of this paper. Then introduces and analyzes several techniques related to this paper, such as product data management (PDM) , Management Information Systems (MIS) , Java technology and database technology. Based on the supportive technologies discussed above, considering the similarity between the process of treatments in hospitals and the manufacturing process in enterprises, with the advanced theory and the experience of successful PDM applications, we propose a medical information model system and construct the Patient Lifecycle Information Management System to share the medical information. The construction of patients' lifecycle HIS is deeply described, including the concept and significance of patients' lifecycle healthcare information, the objective of this HIS and the concrete method of system implementation. Then the main functions of the system are analyzed. The Patients' information management, the Users' power management and the Log Management and their corresponding models, which are the important parts of the system, are built and analyzed in details .The main functions of the system, are also realized. The system base on B/S structure and adopt technologies such as J2EE, JSP and Javabean. At last, makes a summary of the major research work and analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of this system as well as the prospect of this field.
