The development of computer technology has been leading human society into the knowledge economy time as the representative of information technology. For the manufacturing of China, especially for the vast small and medium manufacturing enterprise (SME), which are very important significance and effect to the economy development of China, the ability of product innovation and development is a very important field for improving the level of their science and technology. Technology Information System (TIS) assures the agility of enterprises and plays an important role in integrating and sharing of interior technology information, improving the efficiency in developing new product and shortening producing period and so on.According to actual requirement of TIS for Xinda Pump Factory, this paper puts forward a distributed structure and implementing scheme of technology information system based on three-layer mode, and explores some key technologies of software development. This paper's main conclusions are as follows:1. Aiming at the problems of present TIS and its trends, a structure of CAD/CAPP/CAM system is presented in this paper based on component technology and integrated PDM. In this system, the information's integrity and uniqueness can be assured, powerful support can be given to the product developing and manufacturing of the enterprise.2. The security problems and related protected measures in integrated information are analyzed systematically according to the features of TIS and the actual condition of manufacturing enterprise. Presenting an authorization-basedencryption algorithm convert user password into PC to save in database by exclusive-OR logical operation.3. In allusion to the requirement of safe storage of the electronic documents, using encryption/decryption and compression/uncompression techniques, the property of engineering drawing are saved in the database, the actual drawing are stored with the designated path in database, and the drawing are unified management and maintenance.4. Aiming at the problem of engineering drawing in Technology Information System, adopting distributed (multi-users), multi-types files management satisfied different queried types, edition management of data, share and security of data in the engineering.
