The Research And Design On The Software System Of Digital TV Receiver

Digital TV Receiver is one kind of device that can receive digital TV signal and decode it for output. In view of the situation of our country, it has the practical importance to develop the DVB-C receiver. In the research of it, software research and design is the most difficult and is the key component. The final product performance has the direct relations with the software design.This paper is a part of research project"Research and Development of Cable Digital TV Receiver". This project is based on STMicroelectronics solution, using STx5105 as source decoding chip and STv0297 as channel decoding chip.This paper studies cable receiver system software and implements the modules including front-end control, demultiplexing, program database. Front-end control module provides a generic interface to a Front End decoder for receiving a digital transport stream via cable services. It performs QAM demodulation and channel decoding. To implement the audio&video's elementary stream collection, program specific information is collected and analysised by using demultiplexing software which controls the Programmable Transport Interface module in STx5105. Program database is responsible for the management of program and channel, and it is storaged in flash.The paper also presents receiver's hardware architecture and its main chip in brief, and makes an introduction of the system platform, ST20 debugging software environment and STLite/OS20 real-time operating system of ST incorporation.The software of receiver is easily maintained and upgraded because the structure is hierarchical. The modularization allows each part of the software have its own function. Through the debugging on the former developed receiver hardware board, software system has achieved the aim of expected function and performance.
