With the rapid development of the digital technology, the transition from analog to digital becomes the only way for broadcast and TV. Being one of the digital TV broadcasting, Digital Television Terrestrial Broadcasting (DTTB) has advantages such as mobiling and portability, and affects the people's life deeply. As the terminal unit of DTTB system, Digital TV Receiver is one kind of device that can receive digital TV signal and decode it for output. In view of the situation of our country, it has huge social requirement and commercial chance to develop the DTTB receiver.In 2006 august, Chinese standard of digital terrestrial TV broadcasting released, which is named DMB-TH. It will be forced to implement the standard in 2007 august. Based on the standard, this paper is engaged in researching and developing receiver, which is based-on STx5105 platform, and keeps ahead. Now we have developed the functional specimen, and it becomes one of the earliest receivers which are developed based on the standard. The receiver in the paper uses LGS8913 as DMB-TH demodulation chip, which is made by Legend Silicon corp. as the newest chip with high performance. LGS8913 receives the signal, demodulates and decodes later, then converts the signal to MPEG-2 transport streams. Source decoding part uses single chip solution which is based on STx5105. STx5105 can receive the MPEG-2 transport streams and implement the demultiplexing, decoding and so on. The single chip solution has low cost and high performance. Compared with the current TV Terrestrial Broadcasting receivers, the system has high performance and low cost, having great social requirement and market values, and benefits to research on DTTB receivers based on DMB-TH standard.The paper introduces receiver's hardware and software system design, OS20 embedded operating system, the layer and module of the software system, the software flow of normal working and design of software module such as program searching and storing. Specially, the paper presents the design of channel receiving module and burning files to FLASH memory and also introduces the debug methods of the system. It gives the testing result as well.
