Along with the fast development of computer and communications technology, and the syncretism of 3C (Computer, Communication & Consume Electric), the embedded system has merged into almost every field. ARM (Advanced RISC Machine) is in the leading position in the market of 32 bits embedded micro processor, so it' s important to understand the development trend of ARM technology. Linux is popular in embedded system engineers among embedded operation systems because of its advantages such as open source, simplification of the kernel, easy to migrate, and so on. And if embedded equipment can be connected into network, the information processing ability can be strengthened, so it is necessary to build Web Server for our embedded system.Based on the above background, the main purpose of this article is studying how to build embedded Linux development platform based on ARM, and following this step, is to develop network application program.The article anatomied the structure of ARM9, introduced the character and resources of target board of S3C2410 based on ARM9; It described related knowledge of embedded operation systems and basic methods of Linux migration; The article outlined the building process of development environment, mainly including building the arm-linux-tools in Linux operation systems of PC; Then the article discussed the building process of embedded Linux development patform, including the analysis and migration of Bootloader, the structure analysis, code modifies, kernel cut-off, kernel configure and migration of Linux2. 6, the migration of network card driver, and the building process of root file system. Following the methods and techniques provided in this article, an ARM-Linux development platform will be conveniently constructed.At the end of this article, network application program based on the platform established before was presented, that' s building Web Server Boa, and developing the application based on Boa. Finally, the functions of browsing interactive web pages and remote monitoring were realized in Web Server of target board through IE of PC.
