Linux-based smart PDA system has become more and more popular in the application of the hot issues of embedded system. At the same time, graphical user interface (GUI) in the smart embedded systems such as PDA's position is becoming more important. And Xinjiang is located in the hinterland of the Eurasian continent, from northeast to southwest and Mongolia, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan and India, bordering eight countries。Embedded With the growing popularity of smart devices, Qtopia Chinese version of the PDA has been widely applied in China, the localization of the Xinjiang region of Central Asia to further strengthen contacts and exchanges with the urgent need to address the important scientific and technological issues. In this paper, the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region to the work of the Office of Science and Technology Russian, Arabic PDA project to study the background, Based on the successful development of Russian qtopia the linux embedded systems.This paper is my participation in the work of the Qtopia localization study concluded that the main content and results include:1. Combine the development experience of realization of Russia information processing based on Linux Redhat 9.0 desktop version, has analyzed and dissected the main system structure of Qtopia, Has mastered the key technology just like System model, internationalization,localization of Qtopia Operating.2. Through dissected Font mechanism of Qtopia, has established the Russia fonts, and has provided the foundation of display, print Russia scripts on Qtopia.3. Through developed input method procedure, has realized the Russia keyboard entry and the Software-based keyboard entry on Qtopia.4. Through analyzed the internationalization and the localization mechanism of Qtopia, has designed Russia localization environment, and used the compile and decompile function of resources compiler, has extracted Qtopia graphical user interface resources and localized them, Has constructed Russia graphical user interface resources which based on Qtopia platform, and Realized the support of Russia graphical user interface on Qtopia.In this paper, the use of Qt application development framework and international development tools, based on Intel XScale microprocessor Borch PXA270A test platform to achieve Russian Qtopia system, test results showed that the Russian Qtopia system to achieve the correct input, display and deal with Russia Text of the function.
