With the development of Internet, the application of Web2.0 has spreaded from text, image to video area which is warmly welcomed by lots of people. The research object is user of video sharing sites. In this article, video sharing sites are defined as the video communication platform based on the user central theory of Web2.0. On this platform, users can share the video content as they like. And it is the point that differentiate video sharing sites from the others, like P2P and so on.Video sharing industry developed very fast and the competition among this industry is very fierce. Although it looks nice from outside in, there are many problems and potential risk existing, including the tight regulation of this country, the invasion of traditional media giants, high operations cost and low income, the problem of intellectual property and so on. If these problems can not be well solved, it will affect the long-term sustainable development of the video sharing industry.Facing with the internal and external problems, websites have to find out solution from their own. It can not be denied that user has held an extremely important position in Web2. 0 application. And it is the same in video sharing sites. Users are both content generator and browser. So it is of great significance to study the users to gain a better comprehension of their behavior, attitude and preference which will help to improve the design of websites, and user experience, enhance the attractiveness of the websites.This thesis uses survey to study users by using 22 video sharing related questions to get the first hand data from the end users, then analyze the data, from which some suggestions of website design are also being proposed.According to this thread, the thesis mainly consists of 6 chapters.Chapter 1: Forewords. It introduces the study background and its purports, the concept and definition of video sharing, and the summary of current study, the problems of this industry and the whole framework of this study.Chapter 2: Apply the user study to video sharing sites. State what is user study, the strength of survey in user study and its value.Chapter 3: Discuss the object and volume of sample, and outline the data which are summarized from survey, describing the preference of video sharing users in behavior, attitude, and intention.Chapter 4: Further analyze the data and study the current situation and the problems.Chapter 5: Proposed some suggestions to improve the websites, including 3 different aspects: websites/platform, content and users.Chapter 6: Conclusion. It drew a conclusion and pointed out the innovations and disadvantages of this article and the following points to study and improve.
