The intelligent embroidery machine is widely used in embroidery industry, at present, the domestic intelligent embroidery machine has some problems with low cost performance. Based on the analysis of construction and function of the system, the paper put forward a design of the dicaryon control system based on ARM and DSP for the embroidery machine, the main work and contributions of dissertation are summarized as follows:Firstly, we designed the core controller based on ARM920T and some function modules: SDRAM,FLASH,the USB,the Ethernet,the UART port,the LCD display and put forward the function of each part.Secondly, we developed the coprocessor TMS320LF2407A to increase the management and the control of the taboret motor and the principal axis and some others.Thirdly, ARM and Linux cross compile environment in which CCS worked was developed by using virtual PC technology, and provided the effective compile environment for the realization of each function.Fourthly, the format of files such as DST stored in the system was described and the decoding method was described as well.The Graphical User Interface was programmed by using MiniGUI system, and the motion control algorithm of the principal axis motor and the taboret motor was carried out.
