Study Of Management Architecture Interface Information Model For WLAN Network

In order to fully extend WLAN, to provide high efficient, reliable services, network management with powerful functions become a critical component of WLAN. WLAN network management become essential factors to keep WLAN network normally, reliably, economically and safely running. Studying WLAN Network Architecture and network management interface Information model, and standardizing its can not only solve urgent requirements building the WLAN network, also can provide the development guidance for network management interface, network management system of different equipment vendor. In the same time, it can effectively avoid the network management difficulty caused by Heterogeneous environment of multiple vendor, and effectively reduce the unnecessary repeated work.The paper first introduce the basic theory based on the TMN network management architecture and SNMP/SMI. Based on TMN and WLAN network structure, WLAN network management architecuture is proposed, namely WLAN network management functionality architecture and possible WLAN network management physical architecture; WLAN network elements management system function is studied detailed, the management function requirements for WLAN equipments is given, such as necessary function of configuraton, capability, safety, fault management for access point equipment, gateway equipment, authentication server, and other WLAN equipments; Based on management function requirements for WLAN network element, WLAN network network management interface model is proposed, including WLAN network management interface function requirements and related MIB. At last the future study is also given.
