As a key technology of the Virtual Manufacture, Virtual Assembly attracts concerns from both academic and industrial fields, so virtual assembly has important theoretical and practical value to the implement of Agile Manufacture, Virtual Manufacture and other advanced manufacture model.The virtual assembly environment is built by data model of the product to simulate and analyse the assembly process, to evaluate the assembly schema, and to find the assembly defaults as early as possible. Also the assembly information can be feeded back to the designers.Using this technology, the traditional physical prototype of the product can be replaced with the digital prototype. It can not only be favourable to the deployment of Concurrent Engineering, but also can greatly shorten the product's design period, reduce the product's design costs, and improve the product's commercial competitive ability.Be based on the theory of Virtual Assembly and its application technology, this paper makes further analysis and study on theory of Virtual Assembly and its key technology.Firstly, be based on the theory of Virtual Assembly and its application technology, this thesis makes further analysis and study on theory of Virtual Assembly and its key technology—Assembly Modeling has developed by all means degree. The physical attribute was extended for this assemble model.Secondly, the ways and appraises of layout for Virtual Assembly sequence have been researched and the geometrical consequence was analyzed emphatically in assembly sequence, then the way of layered sequence from down to up based on hiberarchy structure was brought forward.Lastly, a lot of essential factors which have influence on the quality of spare parts assembly has been studied, and a method of testing the quality according to the real assembly condition has also been advanced; the method of building assembly information and knowledge database has been studied, and take the hole and shaft assembly for example, the paper build the assembly information and knowledge database in limited range, then, take the three-dimensional solid modeling software SolidWorks as a development platform, combined with the Access database and considered comprehensively those key factors that impact on assembly quality, using Visual C++ develop a software uint.
