With the Internet rapid development, the applications based on browser-server could be seen everywhere in our daily life. However, it is found that the application can not catch up the needs due to its inborn defects that it is difficult to be extend to meet the mobile devices variety and applications complexity increasingly. When the new concept is provided by Microsoft, many people put the smart client with a great interest in a wide range of research immediately and look forward to its application to address the plight of the Internet.This thesis firstly explains the background that smart client can be proposed, and then briefly introduces the definition of smart client and compares B/S structure of thin clients with C/S structure of the merits of fat clients, so gives the reason which smart client can be used for. Computer Supported Cooperative Work technology as the starting point in this thesis, the Smart client model under collaborative environment is provided by studying smart client architecture deeply. The key technologies which need to be achieved on the model are given discussions in detail. According to the discussion, we give the basic solution about smart client system under collaborative environment. In order to verify the feasibility of this solution, a combination of film booking example is the realization of specific methods and display.The main content reflected in the following:1) General framework of data synchronization system: It is considered that the unstable wireless network and heterogeneous enterprise application environment, and mobile CSCW results of the theory and practice, so we proposed the general framework of data synchronization under collaborative environment.2) Data Synchronization System model: Based on the above proposed conclusion, the key technologies which need to be achieved on the model, such as the occasional connectivity seamless data access switch design, the synchronization between client-side and server-side (including data synchronization conflict detection and data process) are given discussions in detail. 3) Messaging model: Taking into account the un-reliable wireless network connections and the features between client and server messaging under the mobile environment, the two synchronous and asynchronous messaging models are proposed in this thesis.On the whole, the thesis studies the usage in the enterprise application by concretely sample and makes a far-sighted attempt. These works will impulse our programming and developing in the years coming later.
