| Nowadays, with the rapid development of embedded technologies and moderncommunications, and the appearance of the new generation of communicationstandards, It becomes possible for people to use intelligent mobile devices with accessto business applications. The popularity of these devices in markets is a very surpriseand many industrial magnates are producing this kind of devices, such as PDA, smartphone etc, which can provide with many services and functions. The breakthrough ofmemory and CPU power of the device requires the better embedded OS, embeddedapplication platform, and integration of them.In the related fields, Embedded Linux, Symbian and WinCE are widely used asembedded OS. With the development of these supporting software and enhanceddemand towards smart mobile devices, the improvement of memory and CPU powerdrives the development and application of the related protocols and standards. Thiscan provide operators with advantages to offer many data and application services.This thesis is based on the author's work in a smart phone project based onembedded Linux. Firstly it aims at a software solution with hiberarchy for a smartphone, which is clear, modularized and easily developed, and giving detaileddescription for the architecture, the related subsystems and key points. Also it willdeeply analysis the embedded Linux and GUI especially. We can develop manyenhanced applications based on this solution, such as multimedia, business, GUI etc.Secondly this thesis also refers to the design and implementation of data sync on asmart phone. Now there are a few industry-wide synchronization protocols such asSyncML, HotSync, IntelliSync, and CPISync. After the examination and investigationof these protocols we focus on the design and implementation of data sync in thesoftware system mentioned above. |
