How to enable enterprises and research institutions to share manufacturing resources and to achieve collaboration has always been one of the critical issues of improving enterprises competitiveness. As manufacturing grid contains a wide variety of dynamic, diversity, autonomy, and multiple, distribution and sharing of resources, and other characteristics, discoverying necessary resources is very difficult.Based on the comparative analysis on resource discovery mechanism of existing grid system, as well as Web Service, P2P and other mature network technologies, and analyzing the features of manufacturing resources in the network, a layered model resource discovery mechanism is proposed Meanwhile ,main issues such as resource registration ,update and matching inquiries as well analyzed and detailed solutions are also given.Resource location is the kernel problem that should be studied in manufacturing grid resource discovery system, the performance of which has great impact on the efficiency of the whole resource discovery system. A new Algorithm is provided based on the basis of location method of chord .To address the problem of dynamic resource discovery ,we proposed and realized algorithm for manufacturing grid resource dynamic status detection. This algorithm is capable of meeting various QoS demands of all kinds of manufacturing resources,supporting the strategy of scheduling priority of local resources demands. We recorded the dynamic status of the resource of manufacturing grid by constructing the dynamic status detector service for manufacturing resource and timely eliminate failure resource.
