At present the global economic integration is accelerating quickly, and the competitiveness of manufacturing enterprises becomes fiercer. To the modern manufacturing sector, to reduce product cost is the crucial link in the competition to win. The processing of all kinds of resources, the capacity of processing machine equipment have been identified, it is very difficult to achieve increased efficiency from the production process, but the logistics process is still able to be studied and has greater mining areas with great potential. Because in the entire process of production, only 5 percent of the time is expensed in processing and manufacturing, 95 percent of the time is used for storage, handling, processing and transportation waiting. Therefore, study of the production logistics system is the important means to increase production efficiency, reduce production costs and improve the equipment utilization.Production logistics system is a kind of the complex discrete event system with high degree of randomness, traditional analysis becomes more difficult. Petri net is a graphical modeling method, and the model is intuitive and easy-to-understand, which is used to clearly descript the interaction within the system, such as the conflict, particularly applicable to discrete-time systems modeling. Computer simulation is the imitation of real system, and able to fully correct the description of a large number of random factors existing in the complex system, and very effective to deal with the general uncertainty. Therefore using a pipe processing plant as an example, this paper combines Petri nets and computer simulation technology together, researches on the production logistics, and focuses on the modeling and optimization technology of the production logistics system.Firstly, considering the current economic and international background, the importance to study the production logistics is introduced, and the status quo of the production logistics scheduling, and the modeling and simulation technology is analyzed in detail. Secondly, viewing the content and characteristics of production logistics, the logistics structure type and logistics attributes has a detailed analysis, and research the planning technique based on SLP is studied.Finally, the feasibility and advantages to apply the computer simulation and Petri nets into the production logistics is demonstrated, and the joint use of Petri net and computer simulation to simulate and optimize the production logistics system is researched deeply. In connection with the production logistics system of a pipe processing plant, this method is applied so that the optimized plan is formulated and the effectiveness is proved.
