The base station monitoring system is one of the effective measures to safeguard and protect various power equipments and air-conditionings in inner base station, so as to make base stations run effectively . With the rapid development of mobile communications , many contradictions are discovered recently ,such as : system separation between mobile communication and local cable communication, weak operation of mobile communication , heavy workload for Maintenance . Mobile base stations and wireless base stations generally have the following characteristics: decentralized Multi-sites, constrained resources, a small number of power equipment of base station, less investment for station equipments, unstable power grid situation, rather poor environment of machine room .Moreover , no workers are arranged on duty for most time.Based on GPRS technology , mobile base station monitoring system is designed, aiming at current mobile base station situation . Firstly , this paper analyzed present Situation and the necessity of our national mobile base station monitoring system .Comparing several communication modes ,we can draw conclusions that : Adopting GPRS communication mode is more economical and effective .Then , system components and physical structure of base station monitoring system are discussed , emphasizing on different performance requirements and main features of system . In response to these requirements , entire monitoring system hardware and software components are discussed in detail ,especially research on wireless network configuration and data transmission of GPRS modules .Selecting ARM7 processors as core of MagicARM2200 test development platform . Embedded systems adopt Linux operating system, which is very popular in recent years. A detailed study of the Linux kernel and procedures. transplantation is proceeded. Software development is based on Delphi 7.0 and ACCESS Database as a development tool. In this paper ,we discuss many aspects of design , including : overall idea of the software design, selection and connection modes of database, safety management design of base station monitoring, interface design of database module and entire system. In the last, base station monitoring system is summarized , and future development trends are also prospected . This system characteristics are as followings:1.Using the object-oriented programming techniques. According to the corresponding base station maintenance, topology structure is realized and operation knowledge is represented , and also maintenance module of database is established. So it can achieve the effective management of the database.2. Entry editing tools are provided conveniently, messages are showed in a high rapid speed and direct mode . It facilitate operators to monitor and manage the status of base station3.The operating authority is set up for improving the safe of system ,and protect effective operation of the base station.4.Using advanced GPRS transmit and receive modules, so the monitoring system is more stable and faster5. In order to make embedded system run faster ,hardware is designed based on the ARM 7 embedded systems6. Distributed Control mode is used in the system, all the information is send to center application server by base station, repeater monitoring, alarm information...
