With the rapid development of computer and information technology, using new technology and equipment to modernize automation equipment and management of the whole primary processing line in Qingdao cigarette factory. It is increasing significant that monitoring and controlling information about production process for users. It is inevitable to construct production process monitoring and controlling system.First, the thesis briefly analyses the characteristics of production monitoring and controlling, then lucubrates some configuration software at home and abroad, compares synthetically the representative configuration software and considers synthetically the actual demands of cigarette factory and the advantages of iFIX configuration soft. At last iFIX is chosen to develop production process monitoring and controlling system of primary processing line.The thesis designs three network which contains information management network,controlling network and FieldBus in strict accordance to the demands of process, and realizes data acquisition and communication of field device based on Industrial Ethernet, OPC , PLC, Profibus FieldBus, Sensor Technology.The thesis analyses emphatically analyses many sensors which are used by primary processing line, including humidity sensor,weight sensor,temperature sensor,flow sensor, and tests the representative sensors, then designs sensor performance test circuit and simulates it in the platform of Multisim.The thesis designs SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) by iFIX according to project needs. In order to realize real-time control, detection, protection, alarm, data statistics, data inquiry, equipment information, report print and other functions, the iFIX used to deal with all upper information. Through developing such configuration pictures as various kinds of monitoring, state, control, fault, data statistics, etc. It makes field state clear display on the computer screen.The OPC Server and iFIX were respectively implemented communication test during the trial operation of primary processing line. The general function in this system can use in other system with simple change to original system background database.The data is acquired by the important instruments of the production process, which communicates with PLC through Profibus FieldBus. The PLC controls the field equipment. The supervise computer analyses and processes the information which is transmitted by Industrial Ethernet and OPC. Forming a complete production process monitoring and controlling system through communication networks.Production process monitoring and controlling system will not only enhance the accuracy of information collection, and the flexibility and rapidity of control, but also further tap the potential of the system, enhance the reliability and safety of the system and improve operational efficiency of the system, at the same time a scientific basis is provided for the higher level scheduling department to develop production plans.This system has already succeeded in running for a long time in cigarette factory. The system can offer basic assurance for safety production and equipment steadily running. It has created enormous economic benefits and social benefits for the enterprise. These design ideas are valuable for popularization and signification for reference.
