Based on the application of natural language understanding to product design, thepronoun phrase subordinate to user requirements, which expressed in natural languagestyle, is understood and analyzed. With the whole system running, the results areconversedintotherequirementofconceptualdesigntosupportthefuturedesign.First,methodbasedonknowledgeshouldbeadoptedinthenaturallanguageUnderstanding applied to product design domain according to the characteristic ofnatural languageunderstandinginproduct design domain.Second, theontologytheoryischosenasanimportantcomplementaritytothemethodbasedonknowledge,throughanalysis and compares of several existing semantic analysis method present.Conceptual dependencytrees are set up based on the conceptual dependencytheorytodenote the relation of concepts. Bydetailed analysis of the intension and the extensionof concepts, pronoun and dynamic pronoun classes templates are established onmethod based on knowledge. Accomplished the understanding of pronoun , Forth,Semantic analysis program is written to understand sentence on the basis of the workdone, which can understand pronoun phrase in corresponding fields. Last, Semanticanalysis of natural language understanding is applied to requirement analysisarchetypal system for the design of worm. The pronoun phrase in user requirements isunderstoodandanalyzed.Withothermodelsrunning,thesystemrunswellafterdebug.
