The Research On Process Improvement Of Software Testing Project In H Co. Based On CMMI Model

Global IT industry is growing persistently and transforming from hardware dominant to software and service dominant, software quality is the core impetus of software industry. In China software industry has a rapid developing speed in recent years. However the investment in software quality is far behind the industry scale. Software test aiming at finding bugs hidden in software, it runs through the whole life cycle of software development. It is absolutely necessary means when improving software quality.Company H is the only third-party institute provides professional software testing in city H. The company has two years of history and went into a fast developing stage. In order to fit into the fast development, more and more people was employed, the size is expanding and business level is heightening. At the same time, company's internal project management is facing more challenges: lack of project progress control, ignore risk and alteration control, etc. if any of these problems isn't well managed, it may lead to project failure.This paper intends to find a solution aim at company H's disadvantages in software testing project management with CMMI theory and basic project management concepts. Since CMMI model is formed on software development project, this research will substitute part practices in CMMI model with software testing elements, making the model more suitable for software testing area. Company H formed EPG in charge of process development and activities improvement.
