Safety and reliability is the fundamental condition in electric system running. Simultaneously, electric system should have qualified quality of power supply and fine dynamic character. Field system cannot only control terminal voltage of generator, but also reactive power, power factor, etc. So, field system of generator set is important to electric system.In the thesis, effect of excitation regulating system, advantage and development of excitation regulator are introduced. Meanwhile, the relevant operation principles of the microcomputer excitation regulator are shown, and they offer the essential theory supporting in intelligent adopting PID (Proportion Integral Differential) +PSS (power system stabilizer) and non-linear control strategy to realize microcomputer excitation regulator.Secondly, the research subject is concerning the design of he whole hardware platform realizing the computer excitation regulator with DSP, which including power module, expanded SRAM model, Man-machine interface module, drive and isolation module, SCI and CAN communication module, sample module and frequency-checking module. Thereafter, designed with the corresponding software module of hardware is told, including CAN communication module, ADC module, SCI of touch screen, and FFT algorithm realized module.This paper is shown that it is feasibility and validity that implement digital excitation controller for synchronous generator based on synthetical control method and DSP. The research work is significant in the future.
