Optical correlation target detection and recognition belongs to the category of optical information processing, with the characteristic of high parallel processing and large capability. Through the method of optical correlation, it can realize automatic recognize, real-time processing and high precision positioning. In this paper, it will introduced the theory of joint transform correlation, the structure of real-time joint transform correlator and some basic methods of digital image processing, particularly introduce the principle of the high-boost filtering and experiment result.Electrically addressed liquid crystal devices (EALCD) were used in the joint transform correlator, its transmittance is relatively lower, the light changed relatively weak, and the receiver characteristics of CCD and so on, so the contrast of the power spectrum was relatively lower, some important information, such as the Young's interference fringes, were displayed very fuzzy, the output correlation peaks were seriously affected. In this paper, the power spectrum was filtered with the high-boost filtering, its contrast was obviously improved, the information was increased, and the contrast of the Young's interference fringes was greatly improved, so got a pair of satisfactory correlation peaks. Thus, the joint transform correlator can preferably identify cluttered scenes low contrast target image through filtering with high-boost filtering.
