The construction of enterprise's information systems is completed by stages. Generally, these information systems are developed by different IT companies and they are based on different technologies, including DBMS, development languages, platform technologies, etc. Further more, the hardware environments also have large differences, and each system is often deployed on the different servers which are located at different places. These reasons lead to the heterogeneity among the existing systems in data, technologies and network aspects. Therefore, it is necessary to build a good integration framework to satisfy the function and the data integration demands when the construction of enterprise informationization comes to the integration stage. The integration framework should be a platform which links the existing system and the future system. It must shield the heterogeneity of existing systems and provide the enterprise leaders with unified data view which is real-time and general function operation which is essential. Meanwhile, it must provide the strong expansibility for the integrated demand which may possibly arise in the future. Based on such application background, it is very significant to study the key technology of function and data integration under heterogeneous system condition.This paper does some research deeply on both theory and practice aspects, in order to solve the issues about heterogeneity and integration framework's extension effectively.In theory, firstly, this paper studies on the system integration concept and integration layer, and summarizes several common issues on the system integration, including communication mode, integration method, heterogeneity and the requirement of the agility and expansibility of integration framework. Secondly, it studies on the Web Services technology. Lastly, this paper introduces the concept of data service bus, and explains its important role in system integration.In practice, after analyzing the general demand of system integration and the several core integration issues, this paper proposes a system integration model based on Web Services and Data Service Bus (IM-WD) that gives two ways of implementation that are applied to different actual situation. Simultaneously it carries on the detailed analysis of the IM-WD core parts in the design level. And then, this paper analyzes the advantage of IM-WD, which proves IM-WD is a good system integration model. Finally, the IM-WD model is applied to an actual project-the supervise system for traffic. This project's successful implementation and deployment confirms the IM-WD integration model's feasibility and usability.
