Surface plasmon resonance (SPR) biosensor technology is an emerging biochemical detection technology, which developed rapidly since it had been used for gas detection and big bio-molecule analyzed by Nylander and Liedberg.The study is founded by National Natural Science Fund and it studied the analysis method and real-time signal collection system of SPR used for monitoring macromolecular interaction. The article firstly introduces the basic theory of SPR, the structure of an analysis system and the detailed designing project. This SPR device is based on the micro total analysis system design, which is made up of an optics element, a sensor element, an analysis element, and a signal collection and analysis element. The emphasis is to explain the design, software and experimental result of the SPR real-time signal collection system.An embedded system scheme is designed here. The ARM9 embbeded computer chip is used for collecting and analyzing the SPR signal. We analys the reaction of big bio-molecule by detecting the signal change from the biochip elment.The image collection element is a signal collection and analysis system which is made up of a CMOS video capturing equipment, an Object Oriented (OO) C++ program language, a Visual C++ programming tools and a MFC library. The whole project is made up of two parts, one is the video capturing system which is based on CMOS video capturing card, the other is single-dot signal capturing system which is based on photoelectric cell. In the single-dot signal capturing system, the photoelectric cell would capture the optical signal which is changed into electric signal by the A/D converter. The digital signal is received by the computer which is for SPR curve drawing, saving, analyzing, and simulation. In the video capturing system, the computer could capture, save, process and list the image signal from the CMOS video capture card.A protable device system is designed based on the embedded platform, and the most important is how to choose the computer chip according to the system need. At first, we thinked over some designation plan such as DSP, ARM, DSP+ARM. However, ARM is chosen for function realization and cost. Linux+Minigui system is used in software design, so the ARM+Linux+Minigui embedded scheme is chosen in this system. HHARM2410 is a platform with S3C2410 processor, the RS232 interface and the Linux Operation System, whose function is equal to a PC with RedHat Linux OS and general COM. MiniGUI, developed by Feynman Software, is one of the world famous free software projects. MiniGUI aims to provide a simple graphics user interface (GUI) for real-time embedded systems. In this study, MiniGUI is used as the main resource libraries of the embedded system, which is a suitable choice for portable system and of great significance.
