With the social economy in our country developing steadily and technology improving rapidly, the Mobile Communications Trade have stepped into a new booming phase. At present, the number of the users of China Mobile has increased to 400,000,000 and it is still on a rise at a rate of 1,000,000 people per year. Mobile data service, such as Short messages, MMS, Color Rings and GPRS based on mobile voice has become more and more popular. Short messages in particular are well received for its flexibility and real time. The quick development of short message service calls for excellent sustentation from the service system, which in return contributes to the stability, timeliness and high efficiency of SMS.However, for many mobile communication corporations in China, their system support capability lags behind the development of SMS, due to the reason that the corporations put the network into use the moment they finish the construction because of the urgent service requirement. In that case, they seldom have soft design, database configuration and application to ensure the system's reliability. Therefore, there might be frequent performance bottlenecks after the system gets online and hardware capacity upgrading is not effective, which results in bad influence on service produce.In recent years, this problem has already got a lot of attention from many mobile communication corporations. They try to figure out a way to upgrade the overall performance of the service system through optimizing service system appliance, especially through optimizing the performance of the database of storage and enterprise data processing.The article deals with the project of Oracle database performance optimization in Chongqing Mobile SMS and the effect on the overall performance of the service system. The essay explains the aims and frames of database performance optimization. Technique of database performance optimization is analyzed and abstracted based on the characteristics of Oracle database. The focus is the poor performance and low stability of SMS during public holidays. The used hardware resource, collocation of the database objects and design of the database application are all elements concerned of the SMS database performance bottleneck.The design of database optimization plan can be made according to the result of the performance analysis. The new plan will help lay out database memory area, transfer data in stored disk to vacant areas to reduce the pressure on I/O resource and adjust parameters of data objects such as undo segment, sorting section, in which case the system can work better and more orderly during operation fastigium. Besides, tools like Explain Plan[1] can be used to optimize the efficiency lowlihead of SQL.The success rate of receiving has been increased obviously by carrying out oracle database performance optimization and implementation in SMS, which leads to the solution of system performance and improving overall performance of the system. This research achievement, to some degree, is worth spreading for it can help optimize database in SMS of our country's mobile communication corporations. It is also helpful for the database optimization of some other mobile service, such as MMS, WAP, GPRS, color rings and so on.
