Ad hoc networks are the collection of wireless mobile hosts forming a temporary, self-organized network without the aid of any centralized administration or standard support services. In such an environment, it may be necessary for one mobile host to enlist the aid of others in forwarding a packet to its destination, due to the limited propagation range of each mobile host's wireless transmission. It is not limited by the time and space to be built quickly and conveniently, so that it is applied to such positions as succor, conference, battlefield, exploration, dangerous situation and so on. There are most characters of wireless communication, dynamic topology, multi-hop, share channel, bandwidth-limited and energy-limited for Ad hoc networks.Routing technique is an important technique for Ad hoc networks and one of the most important factors affect the performance of the networks. As the dynamic and variable topology, those traditional routing protocols cannot be applicable to Ad hoc networks and new routing protocols must be designed. In recent years, some special routing protocols for Ad hoc network have appeared such as AODV, DSR and DSDV. But the whole fields of Ad hoc networks, routing techniques, especially energy control routing technique, still have a long way to go, all those routing protocols need to be improved. Therefore, routing techniques for Ad hoc networks still need a further research and development. We analyze detailed four conditional Ad hoc networks' routing protocols in terms of energy control and investigate deeply energy control to network layer, MAC level and physical layer. Then we study the DDECSR (Distributed Dynamic Energy Control Source Routing) in chapter 4 and discuss the algorithm and detail of DDECSR building united function about link status and residual energy of node to choose routing and maintaining routing by united mechanism which combines backup routing with CSMA/CA of IEEE802.11 MAC protocols. Finally, we take analysis of DDECSR.The simulations of DDECSR are set up by OPNET Modeler, through which this dissertation proves the feasibility and validity of DDECSR, and provides a reference for correlative research.
