Along with the rapid development of modern distance education, the decentralization of education resources and difficulties for sharing emerged. As experienced in different stages of Website Construction Technology, the technologies, platforms and system architectures of education web sites differ a lot. This paper focused on how to retain existing teaching resources and functions, and enable the relatively backward website to call quality resources and services provided by high-quality website, so that existing education resources and services can get more fully reusable.According to the present situation of Web Distance Education in China, a lightweight SOA architecture based on reconfiguration was put forward in this paper. On the basis of retaining the existing education functions and resources, the architecture can reconfigure the architecture of an existing education web system to SOA-based architecture, which will improve the quality of existing distance education website, enhance the reusability of teaching business and share the education resources. This architecture contains 5 layers, which are legacy system layer, service layer, ESB (Enterprise Service Bus) layer, request processing layer and presentation layer from bottom to top. In addition, author of this paper brought forward SRPL (Service Request Processing Language) based on XML in request processing layer to define various presentation request, including the invoked services and the sequence of invoking these services. The design of request processing layer lightened the pressure of method invoking logic and enabling the system to be more robust.The innovations:1. Brought forward and designed a lightweight service oriented architecture based on reconfiguration, which is considerably facile and based on reconfiguration, and can facilitate to realize the reform of distance education system architecture in China.2. Brought forward SRPL based on XML to define the service requirement of presentation layer. The business logic of service invoking in presentation layer can be easier to be abstracted for management and controlled separately by using SRPL. It embodied the "top down" construction principle in SOA.3. SOA has been applied widely in enterprises and spread in bank, logistics, manufacture and other industries, but it rarely used in education field. This paper realized the reconfiguration to existent education system, proved the feasibility of SOA in education field and widened the application filed of SOA.
