Research And Implementation Of Learning Support Services System In College Of Distance Education, Sichuan University Based On Information Architecture

In network information society, rapid increasing information leads to 'information blast'. 'Information blast' implies 'useless information blast'. In many cases, information couldn't give people what they want, which may make people feel anxiety. Only through information architecture, organizing and marking information reasonably and architecting information environment, we can describe complex information clearly. This dissertation studies in the environment of modern distance education, how to architect learning-support system, how to supply learning resources such as learning conditions, environment and materials and supply complete help and service for distance learners in the guide of information architecture theory.This dissertation is divided into four parts. The first part discusses the background and meaning of this subject. And it introduces current study situation home and abroad, introduces the study contents and innovation of this dissertation. The second part introduces the basic knowledge of information architecture such as the definition, connotation, etc. The third part introduces the main contents of distance education and learning-support system, putting emphasis on the relation between information architecture and learning-support system, in order to establish theories of the application of information architecture to learning-support system. The fourth part discusses the principles, the core contents and the process of architecting information and the main functions and features of learning-support system of College of Distance Education in Sichuan University.The main innovation of this dissertation is showed the following part. Based on information ecology theory, it points out the basic theory that combining information management and distance education, combining information architecture and learning-support system. Based on the theory, this paper applies website information architecture theory and practice to systematically plan for construction of learning-support system of College of Distance Education in Sichuan University. It can give useful experience for the sustainable development of distance education. This paper gives many ideas for how to construct the learning-support system of College of Distance Education in Sichuan University. It pays attention to the principles, contents and executive process of information architect. This dissertation also assesses and analyzes the learning-support system of College of Distance Education in Sichuan University through experts consultant and questionnaire survey. And to the problems, it advances many improve methods and suggestions.
