Research On Color Psychology Based Color Selection Algorithms

Pseudo-color selection for scientific visualization application is not as easy as it seems because different applications require different intelligent processes. Different applications of scientific visualization as well as other applications of computer use different color combination and hence the color selection process is different for different computer applications. For this reason it is tough to formalize any algorithm for color selection process. The importance of color selection is clearly evident, but it is yet to be formalized. In this thesis, the color selection algorithms are given for different visualization applications, GUIs, marketing strategy and according to the personality of people based on the psychology of color and color symbolism. These color selection algorithms should help calculate the best color combination possible for their relative applications. Besides, the relative technologies of scientific visualization, properties of color, color models and color psychology are discussed.
