In the boom of network television services, due to huge multimedia stream transmission the backbone is confronted with challenge. How to enhancing QoE,(Quality of Experience) how to store media data, how to resolve media data delivery are the critical problem to resolve for the spread of the IPTV service.UTStarcom develops IPTV products that meet the market demand for reliable, affordable, scalable telecommunications solutions by providing Next-Generation Network Technology - Now. UTStarcom is highly committed to the Rolling Stream product line. Rolling Stream has solved storage of media data and media data delivery. The servers has changed from unitary structure to distributing structure, due to Rolling Stream introduced CDN theory. Rolling Stream media system is separated three portions, the first one is CMS(centre media station), the second one is HMS(home media station), the last one is EMS(edge media station). HMS and EMS provide media stream, CMS manage the whole media stations and administer all the media contents delivery and storage. In this paper we present the method of improving delivery and storage the media data in every stage media station. A Hyper Media File System (HMFS) is used for media storage on the Rolling stream. Each media program is partitioned into a number of small manageable pieces called segments. The storage policy is based on the statistical result of the terminal users'behavior, we analyses the statistical result by Zipf module in order to make storage and delivery come to advance. On the media distribution, we use pull and push ways attempter media content. This intelligent content delivery mechanism enables Service Providers to store beginning program segments for feature-length programs directly on the network edge (closest to the subscriber) and dynamically deliver the remaining segments once viewing starts. This simplifies and expedites content delivery, reduces storage requirements, and minimizes network congestion.
