With the advancements of internet and computer technology, applications of streaming media have become more and more popular. Streaming media is an application with high bandwidth requirement, this make the central server often become the bottleneck of the system performance. CDN (Content Delivery Network) can push the content to the server nodes in the edge of internet, this technology is a good solution of this problem, but CDN is still C/S architecture, it will take a high cost and get poor scalability. In recent years, peer-to-peer (P2P) technology developed rapidly, which is more scalable with lower cost, but the availability and manageability of P2P is poor. Combining P2P with CDN technology can enhance the service capacity of CDN and avoid the drawbacks of P2P technology. This paper introduced P2P technology into CDN, and built the P2P-based media delivery network. P2P-based media delivery network introduced coordination mechanism in all services nodes, and this can improve the quality of real-time data delivery services. In this paper, we have studied the caching technology and set up a model of cache replacement policy. Base on the analysis of the user access behavior, we proposed a new cache replacement algorithm BLSM, the experiment result show that the proposed BLSM algorithm achieves better performance. As a Carrier-class media delivery network, the system performance is very important. There are many factors influence the performance of the media delivery network, one of the most important factors is the content deployment strategy of media delivery network. Aimed at the content deployment strategy of media delivery network, we set up a performance analysis model of the media delivery network. Base on the analysis of constraints of system performance, we proposed a new content deployment strategy CCSP, which introduced caching technology into content deployment strategy. The experiment results show that the proposed strategy can improve the overall performance of the media delivery network.
