The Study Of Media Content Storage And Distribution Technolgy In IPTV

This paper analyzes the development of IPTV commerce nowadays in and out country. The result shows that IPTV develops fastly and the foreground is optimistic. IPTV will enter the phase of sweeping development. For the condition of large amount of users, here are some problems in the IPTV system, for example, slow respond, network congestion, unbalanced workload, low cache userate, deficient capability and so on. So the paper brings forth a suit of realizable project to improve and optimize the system of storage and distribution for media content.There are two parts in the paper by improvement project. They are media content storage based on the technique of segment cutting and media content distribution based on the statisticing of hot program. The first strategy mainly cuts video file to many small segments and storage it by segment. The technique is more advantaged than the traditional storage strategy based on file copy technique. Practice proves that the strategy is excellent for resolving the problem in IPTV system. In this part, the paper gives a work flow of segment cutting technique. It analyzes and studies the unique place of the technique and the advantage of content storage based on it.The second strategy is adding a hot program statisticing module to the original system. It makes the program storaged in cache reflect the requirement of user. The distribution strategy based on it distribute and storage real hot programs in edge caches. It improves the rate of hiting the target and resolves the other problems in IPTV system. In this part, it introduces the BMDP protocol and the related module, then analyzes and studies the distribution system and puts the second strategy and its resolved project forward. The paper statistics the development actuality of IPTV business and views the future of the storage and distribution technique of media content in the IPTV system.
