In current digital information technology and the network technology highly developed PC era, embedded system has already widely entered into all aspects of people's production and life. Along with the further development and the promotion of domestic and foreign embedded products, embedded technology more and more unifies closely with people's life. Embedded system technology related to the hardware and software technology, already becomes one of present most popular technologies. It is specialist computer system, which takes the application as the center, the computer technology as foundation, with software and hardware cut out, adapts to system and has strict requirement to function, cost, volume, power loss. Embedded system gradually becomes the post PC era leadership. In the current embedded system design, ARM. CPU also becomes the mainstream as nucleus.The ARM processor is a kind of 32 RISC processor. Among many similar processors, ARM series has already become the most widely used chip. To the characteristics, the ARM processor nucleus consumes less electricity, costs low and has strong function, and also has the unique 16/32 double instruction collection. All this enables ARM to be the RISC standard in mobile communication, Manu computation, the multimedia digital consumption, the industry control and so on. u COS- II is an operating system, whose source code is public, which can transplant, solidify, be cut out and take the lead current multi- duties. Its most source code is written with ANSIC. uCOS- II passed the commercial navigation authentication of federal aviation administration (FAA), conforms to RTCA (aeroradiotechnical committee) DO - the 178B standard. This standard is carried out for the requirement of aviation electronics. Since it is carried out in1992, u COS- II is already applied in the hundreds of products. This operating system quality obtained approval, can be used in any application. u COS- II completely is taking the lead -like real-time nuclear, and is based on the priority, namely it always lets the highest priority duty operate, therefore timeliness must be better than the nonleaded -like nuclear. It is an operating system supports multi- duties , can divide a complete application procedure into several duties, and different tasks exerted different functions. u COS- II may manages 64 tasks, provide all kinds of function transfer, including the task creation, the task deletion, the task priority change, hung up and the task restores, etc. u COS- II contained the real-time nuclear, the task management, the time management, the communication synchronization between tasks (signal quantity, mailbox, news formation and event) and function of intrinsic management and so on. Its most codes are written with C language, has strong implantation. At present, it can operate on most 8, 16, 32 down to 64 microprocessors, the micro controller, the digital signal processor (DSP). The user also may compile the transplant code according to their needs.GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) is one kind data passing system based on globalhand set system (GSM).Since 1844, Morse has invented telegraph, the people continuously are seeking method of the long-distance communication. From the telegram to the telephone until mobile phone, people has established it as the convenient quick long-distance communication way. The mobile is communicated by wireless network communication. The present wireless network includes GSM, GPRS and so on. GPRS has the relatively inexpensive connect charge, the higher speed transmission. At present, surfing the net by mobile phone is not perfect enough. Therefore, comprehensive solution–GPRS- emerges.This brand-new technology can make you hook on conveniently and swiftly anytime and anywhere with low cost. To be brief, it has high speed, enriched content, but more rational expense.Based on the above present situation, this article aims to explore that by MagicARM2200 test platform, the wireless module and the uC/OS-|| operating system, dialing and sending text message, partly replying and receiving text message can be achieved. It also examined writing driver, invoking system function and at last got the achievement of module initializing.In the first chapter, this thesis first mainly discussed the background of the topic research and embedded system the significance of embedded temperature control system development. The Second chapter makes an introduction to the concepts of embedded system, classification of present popular several embedded operating system and uCOS- II operating system, then followed the embedded system integrated development environment ADS1.2. In third chapter, the GPRS characteristics, GPRS AT order and the function used by GPRS communication system in GPRS drive document were introduced in detail. Based on the above theories, the fourth chapter analyzes the demand of the GPRS communication system, overall design, detailed design and important code. The last chapter is a summary of the whole paper.In brief, due to application of the ARM processor and embedded system, GPRS communication system with strong data transmission has the broad prospects for development and provides convenience to people's production and life.To conclude, in spite of the less revolutionary impact of GPRS embedded system research, the influence on people's life has proved to be valuable. It is sincerely hoped that the investigation and exposition made in this thesis will stimulate more people to research into GPRS embedded system and strive for the overall improvement in long-distance communication.
