With the developing of Internet, WWW (World Wide Web) has gotten the verygreat development and is popular in most countries and areas of the earth. Database isthe base of network information service, the technique of how to use Web anddatabase together has become the current focus. Face to rapid developing of Internet,the traditional database access technique can't satisfy little by little the demand of highspeed access, the data access on broken connection and Complete support of XML,etc. The study of database access technique based on Internet has become one of maindirection of database research.General Web database access implementation technique includes the CommonGateway Interface (CGI), Server Application Programming Interface (SAPI), ActiveServer Page (ASP), Professional HyperText PreProcessor (PHP), Java Server Pages(JSP) primarily, these techniques each has their advantages, shortcomings and theproper situations, still are extensive adopted to write the Web application program.Along with the Microsoft. NET releasing, the ASP. NET brings enormous varieties forwriting a flood of Web application program.This paper studies technology of access database under. NETstructure-ADO. NET, thoroughly the performance optimize of ADO.NET on Webapplication, which includes comparison, choice and performance optimize of fourkinds of .NET data providers, applicable occasion and optimize of stored procedure,security, data consistency etc. It puts forward that how to develop efficiently databaseaccess application of facing to the Internet on .NET environment. These studiesprovide bigger practical values and guiding meaning for a great deal of the current.Base on studying the technology of accessing Web database and the real need ofthe grottos conservation and the study of Dunhuang academy, considering use of thedifferent type data source, we design and actualize 'Dunhuang Grottoes ConservationArchives Information System' basing on B/S model.This system base on .NET Framework, using ADO.NET data accessing andrelational optimized technology by VB.NET language and use SQL Server2005 asback database system.
